I’m always drawn to children at weddings. This one had its fair share of them and they were all so well-behaved and pretty much loved the camera.Bonus!
Market Days
The I Heart Market was on this Saturday at the Moses Mabhida stadium. The wind and rain held off and the placement of the tent under the trees was perfect. If you haven’t been before, you really should go. Some people featured in this post: Nadia and Lauren of Cupcake Couture and Glossary – Roy – Sophia Basckin - Gen Motley & Olive – Bevan of The Thrift Collection and Clementine. How cute is her necklace?
Con Amore – Christmas Party
Ché (Portfolio Design) and I went along to the Con Amore Christmas party tonight. I love this shop although I generally avoid it as I can’t stop myself from spending money. We had a wander or two around while sipping on Champagne and munching on sushi and I spotted my favourite cushions. Of course I had to have them, so I came away with a few snaps, a lighter wallet and a more decorative couch. There is a beautiful mirror I have my eye on but it will have to stay there for some other lucky soul as I have no space to put it.
Thanks to Charles, Maria, Candice and Debbie for the invite.
The Worlds Inside of Us
The Worlds Inside Of Us // Double Exposure Portraits is a series by graphic designer and photographer, Dan Mountford from Brighton, UK. All images were created in camera with minimal post production in PS and AI. He seems pretty taken with the Brighton Pavilion, but then, it’s a beautiful building so I’m not surprised. All images remain copyright of the artist.
Summer Is Coming
Summer Holidays are almost here and although they’re not quite as exciting as when I was still in school, this time of year still conjures up images of the beach – girls in bikinis, ice-cream cones, surfers, drinking pimms and lemonade in the garden and more.
I used to be a huge Enid Blyton fan, I couldn’t get enough and I still love the idea of a typical British seaside holiday in the early 20th century. Back then there were no ipods or TV, children played with a bucket and spade, they drank lemonade and ginger beer and spent time exploring the coastline. Parents would sit on their deckchairs, do some acrobatics or go for a paddle in a bathing carriage. While I do like all the modern day conveniences, I still think they’ve taken a lot away from family holidays.
These are some of my fav pics from the Life magazine archive. The last image is of my great-great grandfather and his friend on South Beach and my great-grandfather on shore leave in Durbs.
