Cycling the 031

Today was the day we finally got off of our admittedly lazy behinds and went cycling. After reading zero31′s post about what to do this weekend we decided we’d hire some cruisers and expend some energy dodging small children and random people strolling aimlessly along the promenade.

Finding a bike after 11am on a Sunday morning is no mean feat. First we tried Bike & Saddle at the Elangeni – no dice. We tried the place at the skate park – all out. We eventually found what we were looking for at Cycle Point (031 337 7850) near uShaka.  It costs R100 for 3 hours which is pretty reasonable cash wise and gives you more than enough time to play frogger with the masses.

We headed from uShaka to the Stadium, where we had a pit stop for burgers at The Keg and Spear before heading back.  It’s definitely worth doing and I highly recommend it. Perhaps next time we’ll book a tour with Street Scene on Point Road for some added interest.
