Bits & Bobs

It’s been a super busy year so far. This means that we’ve hardly left the flat, and the times we have actually gone somewhere kinda preclude dragging my camera along. So in the spirit of keeping things going on here, I hereby present some of the knick-knacks and furniture we’ve collected.

Spring 2012 – Colour Forecast

Ok I know I’m in SA and I’m two seasons early but I can’t wait for Spring. The colours are amazing. I’m so tired of all the drab grey’s and browns and we haven’t even hit Autumn yet. In a bid to bring a bit of sunshine to SA, when we hit midwinter I’m going to be wearing as many of these colours as I can.

Majority of images are taken from ASOS and products are currently available on the site.

Industrial Living

I’m definitely loving the industrial revival going on at the moment. Raw brick, untreated wood, concrete flooring and exposed beams with large windows and truly iconic furniture. If I’m ever lucky enough to own a space as beautiful as some of the images below I will be one very happy bunny.

The Silk & Cotton Co

La Grange Interiors

Shubin + Donaldson

Freedom Café – My favourite place in Durban. I think something similar would make a really awesome little house in the Berg. All I’d need is insulation.

Deadliest Catch

I am completely and utterly in love with this ad. The imagery is ridiculously good. I have a huge thing for gritty black and white portraits and I’m rather partial to a bit of Johnny Cash. The song used in this ad is Ain’t No Grave and it’s one of my favourites.

This next video comes in a close second. Yet again the close ups and the depth of field gets my little heart pitter pattering. Song is Rise by Eddie Vedder.
