All Saints generally leans towards darker colours and natural fibres. Everything is always great quality and the attention to detail is what separates them from the other high street chains. I’d rather drop 10 grand on 5 items in All Saints than on a ton of stuff in another shop. Call me crazy but it must be love.
]]>“In signature feminine style, the latest offering of sugary sweet colours and ornamental details comes in a candy floss palette of blush pink, mint green and powder blue, which colour up a range of luxurious fabrics to create this pretty collection.
Layers of lace, embroideries and embellishments are highlighted with sparkly metallic details and delicate beadwork which adorns collars and necklines. Indulge in girly prom dresses in gorgeous florals or sleek shift shapes in muted paisleys and soft botanicals with matching separates.
Charming accessories complete the sweet selection, featuring candy toned jewelled necklaces, statement chandelier earrings and opulent rose gold accents. Blush coloured heels are delicately frosted with diamantes and clutches encrusted with sparkles finish any outfit to perfection.”

]]>The interior design of the new space mirrors that of the existing South African MANGO stores. Neutral tones and materials are used to create the perfect backdrop for the apparel and accessories which take centre stage. Conceptualized and constructed by the International Mango Interior Design Team, the Gateway store reflects the clean, natural and minimalist look of MANGO stores around the world.
As the number one shopping mall in Kwazulu Natal, Gateway Theatre of Shopping was the obvious choice for the first MANGO store in the region. Home to multiple international fashion brands such as GUESS and Zara, the centre affords MANGO the perfect retail environment and a relevant customer base. Launching with the MANGO Summer 2012 Collection, the new store will house the entire MANGO Collection for women; including the suit, casual and jeanswear ranges. The store will also stock a range of MANGO accessories including handbags, footwear, swimwear and jewellery.
The MANGO concept, based on an alliance between a quality product in accordance with the latest fashion trends and affordable prices, continues to succeed in the South African market. The new Gateway Theatre of Shopping space promises to align with this concept; representing a calling card for the MANGO brand and creating a dynamic image in accordance with the personality of its customers.”
You can see my take on the new Mango store at Gateway here. Below images taken from Campaign disc as well as Fashion Gone Rogue and Fashionista.com.
]]>The current range is full of lush bright yellows, greens, oranges and blues. It was like a Benetton ad, only Mango. What I was most impressed with was the price, everything is super affordable compared to a lot of places I’ve been shopping lately. Seriously, I could go mad in there, luckily Roy was around to reign me in. If you’re heading to Gateway you should definitely pop in to Mango first.
Product images to follow on a separate post.
All photos except the food taken by Roy Esterhuysen – I was too busy shopping.
]]>I was also rather taken with their in-store décor. Each one is unique but there is a common theme running through the entire chain. The Regent Street store has made great use of subway tiles, wood flooring and other natural materials while the one in bath has used just about every Singer sewing machine still left in England. I can’t wait to get back there in September and get my shop on.
If you’re looking for guys clothing, take a look at their Men’s collection.
]]>Self-confessed one-stop-shop for cool London style, legendary TOPSHOP and TOPMAN will open their first South African store in Sandton City, Johannesburg in November 2012. The House of Busby, together with Edcon, has been granted the exclusive South African franchise rights for the British High-Street style champions. Both TOPSHOP and TOPSHOP MAN will be housed in a flagship 950 square metre store in Sandton City; Johannesburg’s largest and most iconic shopping destination. A second store is planned for opening in Gateway, Durban in December 2012, with plans for future store roll-outs including Cape Town and shop-in-shops exclusively within key Edgars’ stores.
Established in 1964, TOPSHOP and TOPMAN currently operate over 750 stores worldwide, with South Africa the 37th country to welcome the renowned labels. Originating as a young fashion brand in the basement of former departmental chain, Peter Robinson Ltd, the brands have earned their reputations as major style authorities. The success of what have become iconic brands is based largely on their ubiquitous appeal. Signifying different things to their expansive customer base, TOPSHOP and TOPMAN present the most fashion-forward pieces whilst allowing for personal interpretation and expression by their customers.
Significantly, the South African stores will be directly aligned with their UK counterpart in terms of merchandise and trend offering. Customers will be able to purchase from the same collection as available in the brand’s UK stores, with the focus being on season-suitable merchandise. The dynamic South African space, with a uniquely British shopping experience, will afford customers extensive, on-trend TOPSHOP and TOPMAN collections including apparel, footwear, accessories, lingerie and make-up.
