Happy Birthday Caz!

Caroline Clayton stole my party! By this I mean she had the 30th birthday that I would have if I wasn’t so antisocial and terrible at cultivating relationships. Having said that she must have worked her bum off organizing everything because I swear I heard the table groaning under the weight of all that delicious food and I’m in awe of her crafty décor skills.

Some of you may know Caz from the Wooden Words stand at the I Heart Market, if you’ve never met her, well she’s just as lovely in real life as she looks in pictures which totally explains why she has so many awesome friends who came to celebrate her 30th with her. Thanks for a fab day out Caz, Happy Birthday for today and here’s to many more.

PS. It’s nice to see Roy and I aren’t the only couple who end up wearing matching colours when we go out.

Jeff Divine – Surf Photographer

Following on from yesterdays vintage Summery goodness here are some pics by Jeff Divine.

As one of the first photographers to document the rise of surfing on the North Shore in the 70s and 80s, he’s a true pioneer of surf photography. Each of his images is a small glimpse into what life was like as a Surfer when the sport truly started to evolve. While the Vietnam War was coming to an end, the hippies were all partied out and Jim Jones was preaching to his followers in Guyana, small groups of Surfers were pushing themselves and their boards as far as they possibly could.

Below are just a few of my favourite images. If you’d like to see more then definitely check out Jeff Divine’s website.

It’s Always Summer In California

While cruising the interwebs this evening I stumbled on beachbonfire.tumblr. Right now I’m longing for a past I never had; a summer holiday in California in the seventies. How much fun? I love images from SoCal no matter what era they’re from so I kinda feel like I hit the jackpot. There are a ton of surfing, skating and general Summery photos on the site so check it out. In the meantime, here are some of my favourites.

Second pic is Tony Hawk in 1982.

I Heart The I Heart Market

Wow, how fast is this year flying by, it’s May already!! With each new month comes another market. I was seriously rushed yesterday which is why there is a severe lack of photos, sorry about that. We blew in and blew out again so fast it’s a wonder I had time to speak to anyone. I have been asked to guest post on the I Heart Market blog so the majority of my photos will be going up there. Stay tuned for my top 5 picks of the day. Have a fab week everyone.
